Evanston Community Foundation announces Joi-Anissa Russell will join the organization as Vice President, Philanthropy and Communications.
Long-time Evanstonian, Joi-Anissa Russell joins the Foundation in December 2019,
about Joi-Anissa Russell
“Joi is highly respected in our community for her extensive experience and widely admired for her compassion and integrity. We’re very fortunate to welcome Joi to our team,” said Monique Jones, President and CEO.
Joi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University, and a Certificate of Major Gifts Solicitation from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. Joi currently serves as Director of Strategic Partnerships at the James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy and will transition to her new role at ECF next month. Prior to her work at The James B. Moran Center, Joi applied her extensive fundraising experience as Executive Director at Shorefront, Director of Foundation Relations at the Salvation Army, and Grants Manager at the Girl Scouts of Chicago.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the staff at Evanston Community Foundation,” said Joi. “I’ve admired the foundation’s work, and I’m eager to get to know the donors and help them fulfill their philanthropic goals.” Joi and her husband, Tim, have made Evanston their home for 27 years, raising 2 children in the community.
