The Evanston Community Foundation (ECF) will announce the 2017 grant recipients at its annual Grants Awards Celebration and Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 30.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom at the Merion, 529 Davis Street, Evanston.

Photo by Jill Norton Photography For the second year, this event will not only celebrate the full range of ECF grants but will also feature remarks by President and CEO, Monique B. Jones on the state of the foundation. “We are looking forward to sharing all the good news of the Foundation’s work and partnerships with the community,” said Jones. “It’s a wonderful time to focus on the great work of our grantees and the generosity of our grantmaking partners, especially our 20 year anniversary with Northwestern University Dance Marathon.”

Ian Pappas and Jenny Halpern, 2017 Northwestern University Dance Marathon (NUDM) co-chairs, explain how NUDM supports Evanston's nonprofit community through ECF's Responsive Grants at the 2016 event. ECF grants support a broad range of community opportunities and needs. These grant programs include Responsive Grants, root2fruit, Communityworks, Partners for the Future, Community Catalyst Grants and the newly introduced Rolling Grants.

ECF Program Officer Rebecca Cacayuran said, “This event gives community members the unique opportunity to get a snapshot of how Evanston’s nonprofits are making this a more just, vibrant and inclusive community.”
