operating grants

$1,040,654 in operating grants through December 22, 2020

Evanston Community Rapid Response (ECRR) Fund

supporting and protecting organizations

Operating grants are designed to protect Evanston’s vital nonprofit infrastructure so that is can continue to serve our community during and after the pandemic crisis. Grants support organizations who have lost earned and/or fundraising income or incurred new costs due to adapting their services and environment. ECF has also supported nonprofits by immediately removing restrictions from all previously awarded grants in mid-March so that organizations could use grant dollars in the best way to respond to the crisis and its impact.

grants committee

An operating grants committee, made up of ECF board members and representatives of the Evanston communities, reviews applications and recommends selection. Operating grants are for up to $25,000 or 25% of annual operating budget (whichever is less).

grants cycle

Operating grants were offered twice monthly initially and then monthly. Beginning in August 2020, operating grants will be offered on a bimonthly basis. Interested organizations can learn more and apply.
